Fluvial Parade

This is a regular fiesta tradition where St. James the Great, a fisherman and the patron of Buenavista, is paraded on the se in a boat around the shorelines of Buenavista, Agusan del Norte (Barangays Manapa, Tinago, Poblacion 8, 9, and 10, Sacol, and Mahayahay).

Each chapel brings and decorates their boats, carrying their patron's image. Before the parade, the boats are blessed by the priest, who also chants a prayer.

The parade begins with the St. James the Great boat, followed by the devotees' boats. The procession is accompanied by music, drums, and lyres, creating a vibrant ensemble as the boats parade on the waters in thanksgiving to the patron for his continuous intercession with God, who blesses the people of Buenavista with abundant sea resources.
